In 2016, an estimated 20.4% of U.S. adults had chronic pain. PainPal seamlessly integrates into daily living of chronic pain patients with enhanced at home care. Patients start by adhering a smart patch to pain area. Pain data is recorded around the clock and a custom treatment plan is created, adjusted, and updated as the patient’s pain level varies through the day. When the patch detects pain, it will notify the patient and ask the patient to record their activities that triggered the pain and the level of suffering they felt. Pain data is communicated to loved ones who have access, so the patient and their loved ones can receive help and resources through a shared community page. PainPal sees the correlations over time between recorded pain level, perceived pain level, and treatment progress. The patient can bring this holistic pain data to their care provider for in-depth diagnosis or treatment and medication adjustment. PainPal helps patents and doctors better understand the multidimensional and subjective nature behind pain.
