This project focused on improving medical responses to backcountry medical emergencies during the winter. In particular, this project focused on improving the ability to self-rescue and stabilize an injured person in the context of group snowmobiling trips, but could also be easily adapted to meet the needs of other similar search and rescue scenarios.
The minimal folding/rolling design was inspired by a combination of confined space rescue equipment and origami and allows users to quickly create a sturdy sled that can be used to transport injured people, stabilize an injured person, and reduce the overall strain on established rescue resources by improving a groups ability to self-rescue.
